Nightclub & Bar Review
Sweet and Vicious is an indie / punk-rock influenced bar that has been entertaining wild young crowds since the (first) Dot Com bubble. This place gets super-packed most nights of the week, and has a college party vibe that’s great for singles who squeeze next to each other in the main bar drinking frozen Margarita’s out of jars and cold beers.
The interior at Sweet and Vicious matches the name - it’s fun and has some attitude without being too edgy, with exposed brick, rustic wooden floorboards and wrought iron light fixtures, glowing pink fairylights hanging over butterfly-shaped mirrors behind the bar, and a great open-air patio out the back that provides some relief from the heat inside.
The DJs at Sweet and Vicious play an eclectic and mixed set, always loud and with the an energy that adds to the frat-party vibe, but keep in mind you won’t so much be dancing as moving in time with a sea of people. The crowd here is a mix of trendy SoHo locals, a young after-work crowd and a constant supply of birthday boys and girls getting out-of-control with their friends. If you’re looking for an intimate, refined night - not here. If you want to party hard, meet some cool New Yorkers and see what the fuss is about, you’re gonna love Sweet and Vicious.
