Skybar at Shore Club offers a super-chilled, romantic vibe, very late nights and Moroccan-inspired design right next to Miami Beach [Read the Nightclub & Bar Review]
Nightclub & Bar Review
Skybar at Shore Club is one of those must-visit spots in Miami, with something going on every night of the week, a mixed crowd and a whole variety of different styles on display, inside and out. It’s also still a bit of a hidden gem as it doesn’t get the kind of press that Mansion
and Co get from the major club guides, plus it’s situated inside the hotel so you don’t see massive crowds milling about out the front.
The highlight here is a chilled atmosphere in a location that makes the most of Miami Beach’s best qualities. Skybar is a great place for groups but it’s also just as good for taking a date, as there are lots of hidden spaces that feel quite private and romantic. It has a less frantic vibe compared to a lot of the other SOBE clubs and bars, with the vibe suited to chilling and chatting, and the Moroccan-influenced design is also a nice change from some of the blinged out clubs on Collins / Washington.
One of the cool things about Skybar is the variety they offer, with the loungey Redroom indoors, and the lush, Redroom Garden outdoors. They also have Rumbar - a poolside bar does what it says on the tin, pouring out a million different types of rum (75 to be precise), and then there’s Sandbar, which actually touches the sand of Miami Beach and is suited for private parties and a more intimate vibe. . All of the areas lead to Shore Club’s pool-side lounge, an awesome area with two raised infinity pools, comfortable armchairs and beautiful lighting - this seems to be where the energy / vibe is highest with a buzzing crowd mingling into the night and heaps of cabanas and lounges to chill-out on.
Each of the areas / bars at Skybar have different opening hours and ‘hot’ days, but you can guarantee that the place will start buzzing at 11pm and stay open late (anywhere from 2am to 5am). In terms of price there’s no cover which is a bonus, although the drinks are SOBE prices so cocktails are in the teens (and they’re pretty good too). The music is mainly mainstream Hip-Hop & Commercial House - nothing too challenging but it does a good job of setting the mood and adding to the ambiance, and overall Skybar is one of those places that’s perfect for a bit of relaxation in between the more hectic club scene.
