Nightclub & Bar Review
Run by the almighty Opium Group (Set, Louis, Cameo, etc), Mansion is Miami’s favourite mega-club - and with good reason. This massive space brings in the cream of the world’s DJs, with regular club nights every single week and a lavish interior, and even though its been around for a while they still bring in the stars for VIP treatment.
Spread over 2 levels, Mansion includes 5 separate areas and 4 dancefloors along with 5 bars, putting it on par with some of the monsters in Vegas. The lighting system and lay-out is top-notch, with the main room hosting some of the biggest parties on the East Coast. The interior is a nice balance between cool and chic, with exposed brick, high ceilings, sparkling chandeliers and grand stairways. The drinks here are reasonably pricey - expect South Beach prices with beers around 10 bucks and shots / mixers in the teens.
The music at Mansion is right at the top of the club scene - they bring in the big guns from David Guetta, Avicii, Richie Hawtin and Nic Fanciulli through to Afrojack and Steve Aoki. Expect House with a commercial edge to be the order of the day, as well as Hip-Hop / R’n’B with quality DJs and all kind of guests like Young Jeezy and Rick Ross doing the main room. The sound is really tight, and the acoustics are good for a club this size.
Getting in to Mansion is an event in itself - the lines are epic and it can end in tears - it’s always best to know someone on the inside, get there early, dress your best and don’t overload your group with guys if you can help it. Of course, you can always book a table, and if you’re in Miami with a large group this can definitely be worth it - especially because sometimes the lines literally wrap around the block. They have 5 VIP sections, so if you can pony up the cash you’ll be set - they do the sparklers and champagne as well so if you’re used to that kind of thing you’ll feel right at home...
This place is the real deal - pole dancers and LED displays, flashing lights and massive crowds. Mansion is for going all out, so if you feel like a quiet night save it up for the weekend - this isn’t the kind of place for some chilled drinks.
