Nightclub & Bar Review
When you see a wild ocean of clubbers going nuts in the main room of LIV at the Fountainbleau Hotel, you’ll get the feeling that you’ve finally arrived in the Miami club scene. This place is huge - like entertainment centre style large - with a huge curved, detailed ceiling, an epic lighting array and lots of cool, low-slung leather lounges. Balconies on the second floor look down into the dancefloor and lounge area, and the VIP spaces are lush and always packed out with the jetset crew.
On top of the classy, well laid-out interior, the music programming at LIV is as good as you’ll find anywhere in the world - regular DJ here include Cedric Gervais, Sebastian Ingrosso, Kaskade, Roger Sanchez and Steve Angello just to name a few, and on top of that they also bring in Hip-Hop and R’n’B artists with everyone from Lil’ Wayne and Drake through to Kelly Rowland and Cee Lo Green hitting the stage. No wonder the starting line-up of the Miami Heat like to come visit from time-to-time...
The vibe is intense - properly massive on a grand scale that could go head-to-head with the best clubs in Las Vegas no problem - dancing girls on podiums, people running around in super-hero costumers, raised DJ platform for some of the best artists in the world, smoke machines and LED displays - LIV goes all out. The crowd is young, tanned and pretty, well-dressed and super-excited - this is a club that offers the perfect balance between VIP / upmarket service and interior, along with a sound and lighting system that places it amongst the best clubs in the world. The Indie kids / Rock scenesters amongst you probably won’t dig it, but for everyone else you owe it to yourself to catch a night here.
So - everything sounds awesome so far - what’s the catch? Ahhh - that would be getting in the front door. Apart from the long-lines and drama at the front if you’re not on a guestlist, LIV prides itself on the quality of its crowd, so you also have to make sure you’re dressed to impress, have the right girl / guy ratio and stay on the right side of the bouncers.
Also, the drinks here are not cheap - and that isn’t even starting on the bottle service or champagne - like all things in Miami, you can have whatever you what as long as you have the cash. That’s not to say you have to be loaded to come here, just make sure you bring your A-game and some pocket money if you want to have a few drinks throughout the night...
