Buck15 is a nice change from the VIP drama of the Miami Beach club scene - they do good music and a chilled-out vibe for a cool, mixed crowd [Read the Nightclub & Bar Review]
Nightclub & Bar Review
Buck15’s mantra is about as far away from Mynt Lounge & co as you can get: ‘Never a Cover. No Velvet Ropes. Affordable Drinks.’. It’s like working class anti-matter in a world full of posh neutrinos - a chilled and low-key joint that doesn’t worry itself with the fuss and the bother - just a place to bring together a cool crowd.
The club itself sits above Miss Yip’s (a little Chinese restaurant) in a quirky, unassuming building on Lincoln Lane in Miami Beach, and from the outset you can tell that this place is different. After walking up the graffiti splashed stairway you’ll see that the team place an emphasis on interesting decor and independent art, and the smallish interior is a mix of second-hand couches, tables and sparse wooden floors with naked rafters hanging above the crowd.
The music is an eclectic mash-up of genres, with everything from Electro to Rock and Hip-Hop being played by DJs on a nightly basis, and alongside that Buck15 invites some awesome live musicians in to perform Reggae, Roots, Hip-Hop and more. All of this actually gives Buck15 less of a Miami feel and more of a New York vibe, so if you’re feeling South Beach’d out then this might do the trick.
The crowd is like the venue - interesting, really mixed and not too concerned by the latest designers. That’s not to say that there aren’t cool looking people here, it’s just that they aren’t all Jersey Shore lookalikes. You’ll find a whole bunch of skaters, rockers, hip-hoppers and indie types converging on this spot and just hanging without too much worry about who’s watching, and Buck15 has enough of a reputation that occasionally in-the-know celebs will stop by to chill out.
Overall Buck15 is a cool spot to hang when you don't feel like dealing with cocky bouncers, VIP princesses or ridiculous door policies. The music is good, the vibe is cool and the drinks are cold, and it's definitely worth a visit.
