Nightclub & Bar Review
Arkadia is on of the highlights of the Miami club scene, taking up residency basement of the swish Fountainbleau Hotel , courtesy of the same team behind LIV
(LIV is actually right next to it) in Miami Beach.
The club itself is an intimate spot with a capacity of around 300, a couple of slick looking bars plus the requisite VIP tables, with a focus of the main room being the large DJ booth that plays host to some world-class talent with Erick Morillo, Roger Sanchez & Afrojack just a few of the names that have graced the decks. The interior is actually quite reminiscent of Tryst in Las Vegas (minus the waterfall), although you’re gonna have to settle for a sweet pool area instead. The Arkadia pool is as much of a highlight as the rest of the club - they do daytime gigs with the full set-up, and the bonus is that when it gets late they can just move the party inside. Partying by the pool is classic Miami, especially in the middle of the day in the hot summer sun. Dig it.
Depending on whether it’s a day club or a regular club night the crowd at Arkadia can vary, but you can expect a fashionable / upmarket crowd most nights of the week, with a whole lot of good-looking women and trendy guys. The day club brings in a younger crowd, and the fashion is ‘less-is-more’ so be prepared for the power of a thousands mega-tans, while in the club at night the guys seem to get older while the girls stay the same age? Funny that.
The music at Arkadia is straight Miami - mainly quality House, Techno & Electronic, with styles ranging from Commercial through to Deep House and Heavy, and the sound is pretty good without being phenomenal, but the team do well for a confined space.
The prices are what you’d expect, with average prices in the teens and bottles on the menu if you feel like splashing out of course. You should be prepared for a bit of drama on the door, with girls having an easier time depending on dress size, while dudes in groups are not gonna have much love unless you get a table or know someone that can help you get in:) Arkadia is also open from 10pm - 5am, Tuesday + Thursday through to Sunday every week (closed Mon + Wed), so it’s a cool place to hit up if you want to party till morning and don’t feel like hitting up Space just yet...
