Cafe De Paris is a legendary venue in London with an extravagant interior and non-stop party atmosphere [Read the Nightclub & Bar Review]
Nightclub & Bar Review
The world-famous Cafe De Paris has been a West End nightlife staple since the 1920’s, and with good reason. Bringing in mixed crowds since it first opened, this was like the Boujis of the early 20th century (and played host to more than its fair share of Royals). The interior design has retained a classic and elegant look, with a Baroque glamour that matches the vibe perfectly.
The whole space is dripping with gold leaf, thick tassels, and a grand chandelier hanging from an ornate tray ceiling, and large balconies line the main room giving a great view of the action below. Half-club, half-restaurant, burlesque is definitely on the menu at Cafe De Paris, served with a smile in a venue that sizzles with the warm-blooded atmosphere of a gentlemen’s club.
The crowds are mixed and the makeup often depends on the night - Fridays and Saturdays ( Wam Bam Club is on Saturday night) are when the nightclub side of this spot comes to the fore, with Commercial House and dancefloor R’n’B sweeping aside the tables in the main room and turning the whole place into a riot on the dancefloor. There’s also a cool little bar out the back that offers a different vibe and break from the crowd. The dinners and performances start early (around 7pm), so if you want to see the modern side of this illustrious venue then plan to turn up around 11 or midnight.
