Nightclub & Bar Review
Walking into Eyecandy Sound Lounge and Bar feels is kind of like jumping into a packet of fruit jubes. Wild berry and citrus colours splash about the room courtesy of a dynamic lighting display, and everywhere you look something is whirring and buzzing or waiting to be pressed.
Sit down at an interactive touch table and play around with them for a while as they react to the music pounding out of a world-class sound-system, or just chill out in a comfortable booth and check out the images of other parts of the club as they’re beamed to you live. Want more? Jump on to Eyecandy’s touch-sensitive LED dance-floor when your favourite track comes on. Oh yeah - plug your iPod into one of the iPod tables and send a track to the DJ who, taste permitting (leave the Streisand at home), will mix it into the set on the fly. Eyecandy is all about an immersive club experience where the clubbers get to be part of the performance.
While Eyecandy is the kind of place that could easily come across as kitsch, it manages to be cool due to the DJs playing good music and staying away from the Pop-R’n’B-Hip-Hop template that so many Vegas clubs stick to, and also because it actually attracts a good crowd of pretty young things that are going hard at the enormous Mandalay Bay. Entry is free and the staff are super-nice, and the lack of pretentiousness makes it a real keeper and one of the best clubs in Las Vegas.
